The <actual> Best Way to Watch Fireworks
On the Fourth of July, my Dad and I were driving on I-90 and we happened to be in Indiana to Chicago territory from 8:00–10:00 ish and there we saw the most fantastic display ever.
The entire view on the road for THE ENTIRE TIME was just an endless display of fireworks. Unlike fireworks in the sky, there isn’t a set display of 2-D explosions and flowers. Instead, there is a plane of fireworks. If fireworks were points, the plane would extend parallel to the ground, around 30 feet up, on either side of the car and the fireworks would be scattered on this plane in the most amazing, chaotic, beautiful configuration.
But there is more, the fireworks are also three dimmensional and they explode into spheres instead of mere circles. The fireworks are also super close. Only a few meters away and if you’re lucky, they explode right above your head.
When we drove through the display, there were so many fireworks that it was impossible to see all of them at once. There were just too many on all sides. If you turned to your left, there would be 6 more simultaneous explosions on your right and the same in any direction.
Everything was beautiful, a garden of explosives. It almost felt like a war with explosions happening everywhere.
The other best part about watching fireworks from the road was that there was no line. No anticipation of road rage or intense traffic to leave the park.
So if you want to try a hassle free gorgeous display of endless, different fireworks, I suggest you drive on the Interstate 90 next year on Fourth of July from 8:00–10:00 and view a truly unique firework experience.
